A ‘cool’ Testimonial From The Vault

(It’s getting a little old now as it was recorded in 2017 but we think its important you know we’ve been consistent with our performance over the last 11 years)

Colleen Gaerth, from Baskin-Robbins Australia (doesn’t work there anymore) explains how our social media management strategy transformed and streamlined their Facebook presence into “the top internationally performing market outside of the United States” (above 50 other countries) back in 2017.

Social Media Management is about Audience Curation

Social Media Management is about Audience Curation

(It’s not just about talking to the right people)

We’re often asked how we get the results we do. The answer, give us the time to grow your page and an audience we know will convert through real world social media management.

Social Media Management is not about how many posts you’re going to do per week, boosting posts or obsessing over how many Likes your page has. That strategy is so old, it’s now completely irrelevant!

To achieve ground-breaking Ad results, you need to work from the ground up. That means building a robust engaged audience through good, solid quality, high value and very well thought out content with an Ad budget to back it up.

A solid social media management strategy will build you a reliable audience that feeds your social media marketing efforts. If the content is excellent, the audience created will be excellent, resulting in excellent Ad results.

Your Ad Budget

If you’re reading this with an available monthly budget of under $3,000, maybe consider doing our Online Social Media Marketing Course for $500 then invest all of your budget into your Ads instead of paying it to an agency.

Unfortunately, the days when Facebook was cheap to advertise on are long gone and LinkedIn is even more expensive. Whilst you can achieve amazing returns, you now need money to make money.

Social Media Marketing budgets are subject to what you’re promoting, your audience size, your desired outcome and marketing history.

As a guide, we manage Ad budgets of between $3,000 and $500,000 per month and do not charge a commission – because that’s really underhanded for a lot of reasons.

Watch out for the “Bell Ringers”!

If you see any agency promoting any of these ‘features’, consider them a warning alarm and run like Forest Gump in the opposite direction!

Guaranteed number of posts per week – this demonstrates they haven’t a clue what they’re doing for too many reasons to explain here.

Subscription to scheduling software – this is not best practice and Facebook will actually reduce your reach for not posting directly through the Meta platforms.

They are invoicing you for your Ad spend – this means they are using their own Ad account, not yours which goes against best practice. It also means they could be potentially taking a commission and hijacking your data.

Social Media Management is just another name for Social Media Marketing

Now Facebook or Meta is a public company with hungry shareholders to feed, organic reach has gone from 16% in 2012 to just 0.5% today.

So, generally speaking, (even if you’re as clever as us) it doesn’t matter how beautifully crafted your post is or how awesome the image is, if you don’t have an Ad budget to place behind the majority of your posts, no one will see them.

Likes are a red herring

(The term ‘red herring’ is used to indicate distraction that prolongs an activity)

Generally speaking, campaigns to increase Likes are a complete red herring because you cannot validate the quality of that Like and if your Like base is more than a year old, their importance dissolves quite quickly.

As previously mentioned, as organic engagement is next to nothing, when you post (with a budget behind it) or run Ads, they should target a much bigger audience than just your Likes, which again reduces their significance.

Red Herring

Don’t get us wrong, Likes are still a nice thing to have for vanity and social proofing but the age and quality of those Likes along with how they were obtained are the most important thing.
